The New Orleans Hornets have commissioned local artist "Tuna" to create a special painting to commemorate the launch of the new Mardi Gras uniforms. The second in an annual print series, this creation has been aptly named "Krewe of Hornets" as it was directly inspired by the design of the new uniforms and the Carnival tradition in the Big Easy.
"Krewe of Hornets" is the Hornets' second annual print following last year's "Our Team, Our Town" print commemorating the rebirth of the Hornets logos and colors, and our plan is to create a new print each year for fans to add to their collection.
-
Features Hornets owner George Shinn pulling a Hornets float from "Hugo Studios" with some familiar players on board including CP3, David West and Peja showing off their commemorative uniforms as they roll in front of the Hive at the New Orleans Arena. Some fan favorites can also be spotted amongst the parade goers in the crowd.
-
The front of the float is Hugo dressed up as a Mardi Gras jester and wearing the new Mardi Gras uniform, spinning a basketball on his finger.
-
Downtown New Orleans is featured in the background surrounded by swirls of the Hornets' Creole blue and purple.
-
This is a one-of-a kind 22"x28" print that will make a great addition to your Hornets or Mardi Gras collections
